A Place You Cannot Imagine Radio Doco
A radio documentary by Lea Redfern brought together a winner from the AIR schools competition, her subject, and the woman who introduced them in an extraordinarily moving piece. "A Place You Cannot Imagine" is about Gyzele Osmanis story, based on eighteen-year-old Melanie Pooles prize-winning essay. It went to air on Radio Eye on Radio National on Saturday 29th March 2003. It included interviews with Melanie Poole and Marion Lé, but was framed by Gyzele Osmani telling her own story. This story also went to air in America, Hong Kong, Britain, Canada and the Netherlands.

Behind the Fence Doco
A 10 minute documentary about detention in Australia. Produced by QUT students the film made it to the finals of the National Competition, Student Video of the Year 2002. Viewpoints from an ex-detainee TPV holder and Amnesty international. A good resource for schools or community groups.

Refugee Community Service Announcements for Television (TVCs)
Seven 30 second community service announcements have been produced to submit for possible free-to-air broadcast on commercial and non-commercial television. The ads are available for community organisations to submit locally or nationally with their logo and/or message added. Similarly they are available to any commercial organistions who have purchase advertising space and want to show their support.

Our Stories Video
a story sharing video with refugees living in Brisbane. People from seven different refugee communities in Brisbane participated in this project . our stories has been recorded on video and circulated around refugee and migrant resource centres in Queensland. An original language version of each interview is included on the tape.

A4 Refugee Project
An exhibition of randomly contributed work of prestigious and emerging artists.
In response to AUSTCARE Qld's call for participation in Refugee Week 2002, contemporary artists around Australia were invited to submit a work as a gesture of support for refugees. The format of A4 paper was intended to reduced the cost of production and postage and thus allowed for a diversity of contributions. The exhibition is available for viewing by appointment. Asylum seeker CD wins music award - Simon Monsour and Brian Procopis have received the award for Best Producer at the 2001 Sunnie Awards of the Queensland Recording Association for their work on the album "Scattered People".

Visual Response is a project which promotes creativity. Australian Infront invite you to interpret a single, suggestive word. Your end product must not contain any photos or scans. Everything in it must be created from scratch in a program like Photoshop or Illustrator.

Kevin Bates states that he wrote this song "after hearing of a woman detained in Woomera in 2001. Her husband, who came here first, had already been processed and was out in the community. Because no one told her the right words to say when she was seeking her status as an asylum seeker, she languished in Woomera for many months, with her three children, sick, without access to proper medical or legal assistance." "Holiday Camp" is a 45 min. documentary, which investigates the current Australian immigration policies in the context of 200 years of colonization. It is currently screening throughout Europe. The BORDERPANIC project hosted the Australian premier, in Sydney, on the 11th of September. Holiday Camp connects the issues of indigenous dispossession, genocide, and the incarceration of refugees. It explores the implications of the mandatory detention system and the construction of national borders. A poster and synopsis are available on request.
